Privacy Policy
This policy explains how the Precue app for iOS and Android ("Precue") handles your data. Precue is operated by Huang Chen Ting ("we", "us"). If you have any questions, email support@precue.app.
- Precue has no accounts and never asks for your name or email.
- Your learning progress, settings, and points stay on your device. We do not run servers that collect them.
- The app downloads the latest learning content from our servers, which keep only short-term request logs.
- Third parties (Google AdMob, RevenueCat, Apple) process data only when you choose to watch an ad or buy Precue Pro.
- We do not sell your personal data.
1. Data stored on your device
The following data is stored only on your device and is never sent to us:
- Learning progress, review schedules, and quiz results
- Settings, such as interface language and English level
- Points, streak days, and daily ad counts
Deleting Precue deletes this data. It does not sync between devices, so it cannot be restored after you switch phones or reinstall.
2. Downloading learning content
Precue may download the latest series and vocabulary content from our servers. When it does, your device sends the information any network request needs, such as your IP address, app version, operating system, and the content requested. We use this information only to deliver content, keep the service secure and reliable, and count overall downloads. We do not use it to identify you, and we do not combine it with ad or purchase data.
These request logs are kept for no more than 30 days. Our servers are hosted by a cloud provider (such as Cloudflare), which processes this data on our instructions. Your learning progress, settings, and points are not uploaded with these requests.
3. Third-party services
Google AdMob (rewarded ads)
When you choose to watch an ad for points, Precue loads it through Google AdMob. Google may collect:
- Device identifiers. The advertising identifier (IDFA) is accessed only if you allow tracking in the iOS App Tracking Transparency prompt
- IP address and approximate location derived from it
- Technical information such as device model, operating system, and app version
- Ad impressions and interactions
Google uses this data to serve and measure ads and, with your consent, to personalize them. If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK, or Switzerland, Precue asks for your consent through Google's consent message first. You can turn off tracking at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking on your iPhone. See the Google Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
RevenueCat (purchase management)
Precue uses RevenueCat to check whether you have Precue Pro. RevenueCat processes a randomly generated user ID that does not identify you personally, purchase history and receipts, app version, device operating system, and country or region. See the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
Apple (App Store and payments)
Downloads and purchases go through Apple's App Store, and Apple handles payment. We never receive your payment details or Apple ID. See the Apple Privacy Policy.
YouTube (onboarding video)
The video clip in onboarding plays through the YouTube embedded player. While it plays, Google may receive your IP address and device information. See the Google Privacy Policy.
4. Notifications
Precue asks whether you want to allow notifications. We do not collect push tokens or send push notifications from a server; any notification is scheduled locally on your device.
5. What we don't do
- We do not require an account or collect your name, email, or phone number
- We do not include analytics or crash-reporting tools in the app
- We do not sell or rent your personal data
6. When you email us
When you email us, we receive your email address and the content of your message. We use them only to answer your request and for no other purpose.
7. Children
Precue is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child's data has been collected, please contact us.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the EU GDPR, the California CCPA, or Taiwan's Personal Data Protection Act), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your data, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Apart from request logs kept for no more than 30 days, we do not keep your personal data ourselves:
- Deleting the app removes all data stored on your device
- You can turn off tracking or withdraw ad consent in your iPhone settings
- To delete purchase-related data held by RevenueCat, email us and we will help
9. International transfers
Our cloud provider, Google, RevenueCat, and Apple may process data outside your country, for example in the United States, with safeguards described in their own policies.
10. Changes
We may update this policy and will change the effective date on this page. For significant changes, we will give clear notice in the app or on this page.
